Wonderful Polynesian Wedding Singer for your Ceremony

I came across an absolutely delightful Polynesian Wedding Singer today. His name is Pat “Palika” Enos. He is located in Southern California and services California and Las Vegas! He can sing alone or with his small group of singers. He plays the ukulele too. I contacted him today and he sent me some information. The email he sent is as follows:

For the actual wedding ceremony, I perform solo. I arrive early enough to play tasteful Polynesian selections as the family and guests are seated and awaiting the start of the processional. A song is sung for each of the bridal party as they march down the aisle, then for the bride I announce her commencement with the blowing of the pu (shell). The most requested song for her usually is me singing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’. However, sometime during the ceremony I will sing the traditional ‘Hawaiian Wedding Song’ (made famous throughout the world by Elvis Presley in his movie ‘Blue Hawaii’). The cost of me doing the ceremony is $375.

After the ceremony, I suggest using my trio to sing Hawaiian and other Polynesian songs for the reception. We will play continuously for two and a half hours, and if you like, we could add a hula dancer. The dancer is fun if you want her to have some of your family and friends join her in the ‘Hukilau Song’, and maybe do a Tahitian number or two. We will bring our pa system for the reception, which you may also use for guest speakers toasting the bride and groom. For my trio to perform for the reception, the cost is $485. If this does not meet your budget, I could do very well with just my bass player accompanying me. The cost of a duet for your reception will be $385. Please add $125 for each hula dancer. And last but not least, I have done the cocktail reception solo. (Cost may vary depending on location)

End of the School Year Party

Summer is finally here. The kids are officially out of school. My daughter attends a virtual academy so we do most of her work online or in her workbooks here atClick to view slideshow. home. The school still has field trips and parties once or twice a month during the year so she still get to see “real” kids and “real” teachers twice a month. This years end of year party was somewhat of a pot luck. Brownies, cookies, juice, mini Chic-fil-a sandwiches, chips, cake, etc. They also got to make a summer poster. We will be having so much fun this summer. I can’t wait to post our summer adventures. Hope you all will have a good summer too.

Charity Shootout May 2011

The Charity Shootout for Bridges to Ability was a success. It was held at the “Bel Air Bay Club” and the sunsetting into the ocean was a perfect backdrop for the event. There were many vendors, including myself, who donated time, services and products to help raise money for such a wonderful organization. Many couples came to “test drive” some of the most talented Wedding Photographers in Southern California. They also got to see work from Florists, Cake and Cookie Makers, Invitations, test out a Candy Bar, check out the venue, listen to a great DJ, and many other wedding professionals. There was also an auction for many wedding services and products. The “soon to be brides” even got to have their hair and make up done too!! I hope you enjoy the photos!

Dates are filling up!

I just can’t believe a quarter of the year is already gone. It’s gone by so fast. Well, Spring is upon us and so is the busier part of the year. So far this year I have kept it down to a minimum but now we are gearing up for the wedding season!!!

I am also doing unique Senior Photos this year. NO boring background and same old poses. It’s been done over and over and over again for ages. This year the Senior can have their portraits done anywhere. The beach, a park, baseball diamond, on or next to the hot rod they drive, Disneyland, Downtown Disney, pretty much anywhere that fits their personality. Celebrate the time in their lives when they are leaving High School and going ahead to a new part of their lives. All of them are unique in their own ways and their Senior Pics should show it!!! Just give me call or email me and I will hook you up with an appointment.

Charity Engagement Shootout for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles “Hope Program”

Click to view slideshow.I had the privilege of shooting for this charity shoot on September 15, 2010. It was held at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and was so incredibly awesome. There were a number of hair and make up gals, making sure all of the Brides to Be had their hair done and make up done for the photo shoot, there was a good number of photographers, who did an incredible job working with the couples. The couples were all wonderful and very easy to work with. Everything ran so smoothly…..it was just a great evening of fun, photos, and fundraising. The evening ended with an auction, in which anyone could bid on a great number of items.

Of course this great event would not have happened if not for a wonderful colleague of mine, Jen O’Sullivan. She was gracious enough to give me the opportunity of being involved in the event, she organized all of the photographers, the venue, the auction items, the engaged couples, hair and make up, LiaSophia Jewelry, and so many other service vendors to be there and make the night a success.

Jen does these events quite often, and if any of you are engaged, or know someone who is engaged, please contact me with your information and I will fill you in on the next event. The only requirement is that you be engaged and NOT yet have a photographer for your wedding. It’s a great way to “test drive” photographers at no charge and pick one that is right for you on your wedding day. If you decide you like your photos, you have the option of purchasing the discs from each of your photographers that you liked–all the money goes to the charity, plus you can bid on great auction items that are donated by the make up artists, photographers, etc…all of that money also goes to the charity. This time around the couples were able to bid on air and makeup for their wedding day, free prints, albums, guest books, full photo shoots, jewelry, and even a wedding dress that had a retail price of $2500. This dress sold for WAY less than that…a very small fraction of the cost. If you are engaged and need a photographer, this is definitely the way to go!!!
